Kigali International Airport Delegate Transfers
Kigali International Airport (KGL) is located approximately 10 kilometres from the Kigali Convention Centre and the principal hotel zone. The transfer takes 15 to 25 minutes under normal conditions. Kigali's road infrastructure is well-maintained and traffic is light by regional capital standards. Delegate arrivals at KGL are straightforward; inside-terminal collection with vetted transport is the standard protocol.
Medical Provision and Emergency Planning
Medical facilities in Kigali have improved significantly and include King Faisal Hospital in Kacyiru, the University Teaching Hospital of Kigali (CHUK), and the Rwanda Military Hospital at Kanombe as the primary capable facilities. For complex specialist cases, evacuation by air ambulance to Nairobi is the documented route, and the FCDO notes that a serious accident or illness may require evacuation to Kenya or South Africa.
